I’m Ella. I'm a writer and digital content creator based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and a Master of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
I currently work as a Content Specialist for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, where I use my knowledge in writing and editing to produce web content for the institution.
I have served as the Communications Coordinator for Swim Alberta and the Publicity Coordinator for U SPORTS Swimming. As a recently retired competitive swimmer of 17 years, I used my knowledge of the sport to cover and promote age-group swimming in Alberta as well as university-level swimming across all four Canadian U SPORTS conferences.
As an intern with Swimming Canada, I helped produce digital content for multiple major international events, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary and the 2022 FINA World Cup in Toronto, Canada.
As a journalist, my written work has also appeared in SwimSwam, Capital Current, the Canadian Baseball Network, Sportbrand Canada Inc. and the McGill Tribune.
Outside of writing, I am an experienced photographer, videographer and graphic designer. With the help of my FUJIFILM X-T4 camera, much of my communications work combines all of these skills to produce well-rounded, creative content.
