I’m Ella. I'm a writer, photographer, and runner based in Alberta, Canada. I have a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and a Master of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
I have worked as the Communications Coordinator for Swim Alberta and the Publicity Coordinator for U SPORTS Swimming. As a retired competitive swimmer of 17 years, I used my knowledge of the sport to cover and promote age-group swimming in Alberta as well as university-level swimming across all four Canadian U SPORTS conferences.
As an intern with Swimming Canada, I helped produce digital content for multiple major international events, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and the 2022 FINA World Cup in Toronto, Canada.
My journalistic work appears in Travel Alberta, SwimSwam, Capital Current, the Canadian Baseball Network, Sportbrand Canada Inc., and the McGill Tribune. I currently work as a marketing Content Specialist, creating copy for web, email, ad, and print campaigns.
