I’m Ella. I'm a writer, photographer, and athlete based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and a Master's degree in Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
In my current role as a Content Specialist, I create content for marketing and communications campaigns and drive engagement across major channels, including web, social media, print, and email. Previously, I worked as the Communications Coordinator for Swim Alberta and as the Publicity Coordinator for U SPORTS Swimming. As a retired competitive swimmer of 17 years, I used my knowledge of the sport to cover and promote age-group swimming in Alberta as well as university-level swimming across all four Canadian U SPORTS conferences.
As an intern with Swimming Canada, I helped produce digital, photo and video content for multiple major international events, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and the 2022 FINA World Cup in Toronto, Canada.
My journalistic work appears in Travel Alberta, SwimSwam, Capital Current, the Canadian Baseball Network, Sportbrand Canada Inc., and the McGill Tribune.
